Top Wedding Moments of 2018
We had such an amazing year this year, FULL of unforgettable moments from our couple’s special days. So many ceremonies, first dances, venues, new vendor friends, and more came from 2018 and we are so excited to see what 2019 has in store for our team and our beautiful couples!
Since we had so many amazing moments in 2018, we wanted to count down some of our favorite wedding memories from this year! (Also - these are in no particular order, because it was already hard enough to choose our top ten!)
First up...
#10 - Ike and Hope’s last last dance
Ike and Hope’s day at Aldridge Gardens was absolutely stunning! Since this was a November wedding, the amazing Ginkgo tree was dressed in all it’s yellow glory. One of the reasons they chose this venue was for that special tree, it reminded them of the Ginkgo where they met at the University of Montevallo!
This night was one of the first times we ever did a LAST last dance, and that’s when we fell in love with them! Let me explain…
Picture this: your guests have been on the dance floor all night, and finally your Elevated DJ announces the last song, and then your send-off. The guests make their way outside to light their sparklers or gather their lavender/rice/confetti, etc. (it takes longer than you think!), but inside, just the two of you, are having your last moment together from the most amazing, special day in your lives… THAT’S why we love the LAST last dance (and exactly how it got its name!) Also, the photographers have a opportunity to get one last shot of you two on the dance floor together before your final goodbye!
Song: “Colder Weather”- Zac Brown Band (the bride and groom’s ‘song’!)

#9 - Christen and Clayton’s last last dance
I know.. ANOTHER last last dance! What can I say? We love capping off the night with such a sweet moment!
What a beautiful and FUN day this was! Christen and Clayton had their ceremony at their local church and had the reception in the backyard of Christen’s parents’ beautiful home. They even had breakfast food for their “dinner”! (Thanks Happy Catering!!)
After dancing the night away, DJ Andrew sent the guests outside for the couple’s send-off and Christen and Clayton had a moment alone at the end of their reception to soak it all in and the guests had a small glimpse of the sweet final moment of their big day. And YES there were tears flowing!!

#8 - Jordon and Chloe - impromptu “2nd” dance
This was such a special day!! Although it poured rain the entire day, but that was NOT going to put a damper on Jordon and Chloe’s love and excitement. After their first dance they even broke out into a lightsaber battle! (We LOVE when our couples incorporate their interests and hobbies into their day by the way!!)
During the toasts the Maid of Honor mentioned the brides love of Beauty and the Beast, that’s when DJ Emily just KNEW she had to play “Tale As Old Time” immediately! So while the couple was hugging the maid of honor after her speech, they started to hear the first few notes of the song and the groom said “well that was perfect” and they proceeded to have an impromptu “second” dance right then!

#7 - Alex and Andrew - singing their first “dance”
Following a beautiful ceremony at their home church, Alex and Andrew headed to their reception in a surprise limo! This bride absolutely loves the color purple so we just had to cover the reception entrance in purple uplighting!
After being introduced into their reception, the bride and groom had a twist on their first dance and actually sang a duet of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, I can tell you there was not a dry eye in the room!! Once everyone gathered themselves and found a tissue, Alex and Andrew had their special parents dances, then it was time for CAKE! Not just any cake, the grooms cake was a Star Wars themed Death Star Cake — it’s all in the details ya’ll! The rest of the evening was spent dancing and taking photobooth pictures until we finally had to send this sweet couple off!

6 - Lauren and Jerry - lazy Mary dance
Lauren and Jerry’s friends and family were such a fun group! The photobooth and dance floor were hoppin’ all night and everyone involved had such a blast! Our favorite moment was when everyone got into a big dance circle to do an Italian wedding dance to the song “C’e La Luna”. This was such a feel good family moment, you just couldn’t help but smile and want to join in!

#5 - Kendall and John - mother/son dance mash-up
From the very first meeting with this sweet family, I knew we were going to have such a great time! And the dance floor on their special day didn’t disappoint.
We absolutely love when a couple incorporates a fun dance or activity , and when the parents get involved?? IT’S ON!! So when the Groom, John, told me that his mother and him wanted to do a song mash-up for their first dance, we were thrilled! The dance went absolutely perfectly, THEY KILLED IT!! They really set the mood for the rest of the night full of fun and dancing.

#4 - Tayler and Kyle - Anniversary Dance
What a day at one of our favorite Birmingham venues! Hoover Randle Home and Garden’s indoor/outdoor venue was the perfect setting for Tayler and Kyle’s October wedding. The weather was absolutely amazing and the families were so excited for these two lovebirds!
When we were going over the music and schedule for the reception, DJ Emily suggested including an anniversary dance where all the married couples start on the dance floor and slowly leave as the DJ announces years married. As sad as it is to send those couples off the dance floor, it’s so exciting to see who’s going to be the last couple standing!

#3 -Elizabeth and Joe - lighting up vulcan
Vulcan Park is one of our absolute favorite Birmingham landmarks (and wedding venues!), so when Elizabeth and Joe told us their wedding was being held there, we were PUMPED!! The two of them got married under the Vulcan statue, overlooking our beautiful Birmingham. One of the highlights of this day was being able to watch their dog Willis walk down the aisle! (We also had to have 2 custom Willis props in the photobooth!!)
After a gorgeous ceremony and fun-packed reception, it was time to send Elizabeth and Joe off for the night, but not before lighting up Vulcan purple just for them!! What a dreamy way to end the perfect Birmingham wedding!

#2 - Kathryn and Dylan - Dance floor was LIT!
This Bride and Groom included so many special details in their day, from the ceremony music choices, to all their Harry Potter touches like their cake topper and guest book! They entered into their reception to Hedwig’s Theme song (the song you think about when you think Harry Potter!) and it was so beautiful and EPIC! After first dances and cake cutting, the dance floor opened up and was packed ALL NIGHT. Kathryn and Dylan’s family and friends absolutely loved dancing and hanging out in the photobooth! We even had an impromptu dance train to the song “Celebrate” which was amazing and a fun twist!! (Video Below). Cheers to Kathryn and Dylan for such a fun night!

#1 - Ali and Stephen - Ali’s Dads’ Beautiful Toast
Over the past few years we have gotten to know Ali and Stephen and we were so thrilled to be part of their special day! From the ceremony to the reception, every detail was absolutely beautiful and we just LOVED how they incorporated so many Birmingham details! (and that view from Regions field is one of the best!!)
During the reception, Ali’s dad gave the most heartfelt and creative speech that we will be remembering this one forever! It went something like this:
He explained that during a big planning/final prep get-together at their house, he volunteered to help and was put on sparklers duty. As he was un-packaging and adding the sparklers to the bucket, each one *SPARKED* a memory of his from Alexis’ life, her childhood and teen years, going off to college and meeting Stephen, when finally the last two sparklers were stuck together, and he realized this was because they were meant to be and would burn the brightest of the bunch.
Can you say #toastgoals?! After everyone recovered their emotions, the dance floor opened up and the party didn’t stop all night!! (Until that amazing send off under the big Birmingham sign of course!)
